The 31st SommerMusikAkademie was the starting signal for a new era with Friedrich Praetorius as artistic director - this year still in a double team with festival founder Rolf-Dieter Arens. During the Serenade in the Gardens, he introduced himself together with family and friends in all his versatility, playing the piano as well as singing romantic art songs, accompanied by Rolf-Dieter Arens. With this, he also provided a foretaste of one of his focal points in the future artistic direction of the festival: singing.
This year, the serenade was held in the picturesque garden of our long-time partner hotel "Behrens", which also celebrated its 30th anniversary. Many thanks and congratulations!
