This year's serenade opened up access to a fantastic new SMA venue for the first time: Bodendorf Castle, with its naturally embedded terrace stage, extensive garden with excellent acoustics and, of course, its incomparable romantic charm, is a perfect location for chamber music as part of the SMA. In addition to Friedrich Praetorius, his wife and viola section leader Sarah and concertmaster Julius Maier, photographer Max Börner and Academy director Johann Jakob Winter also took to the stage to perform works from a wide range of eras, from Bach and Mozart to Brahms and Nielssen. We would like to thank the von Kospoth family for their hospitality and for opening their home to us for this wonderfully successful event.
