The SMA has been closely associated with Kurt Hegner and his Old Factory in Althaldensleben for many years, and so this year's Wandelkonzerte honored this special place, which will find a different purpose in the future, for the last time. Under the title "Leipzig Influences", the chamber music ensembles of the International Academy Orchestra played works by Bach, Mozart, Mahler, Mendelssohn and Reger at five stations from the former car workshop to the Goethe foyer - in each case accompanied by historical explanations of the location by Dr. Harald Blanke and entertaining anecdotes about composers, artists and music by Friedrich Praetorius.
