With the two major symphony concerts on 14 and 15 August at the Marienkirche in Haldensleben and the guest concert on 16 August at the Marienberg Monastery in Helmstedt, the 34th SummerMusicAcademy Hundisburg Castle came to a successful close after a total of 16 festival days, featuring 20 events.

67 young musicians from 20 Nations came together this year to form the International Academy Orchestra and performed under the musical direction of Friedrich Praetorius a spectacular finale to the festival with a symphonic programme featuring works by Claude Debussy, Richard Strauss and Modest Mussorgsky. This year’s festival was also marked by a masterclass with Patrick Rohbeck (baritone) and Daniel Heide (piano), and an extensive collaboration with the Lotte Lehmann Academy in Perleberg, which culminated in an open-air opera gala in the courtyard of Hundisburg Castle. In addition, the programme traditionally included various supporting events, such as the talk-concert and the children’s concert, whilst numerous guest concerts showcased the festival’s diversity – for example, in the a cappella concert, the jazz night and the special concert. An pictorial review of the festival can be found in the Impressions.

Join us in looking forward to the next SummerMusicAcademy, which will take place from 31 July to 15 August 2027!
